Pinterest Finds: Pearls for 2012, Hilarity, Barrels of Fun

1st Find:

So, it is an absolute staple of the Southern Belle to own a pair of pearls.  But what about us Southern gals that aren’t all that traditional?  When I was browsing Pinterest this morning, I came across this beauty of a necklace.  It has the elegance of pearls and diamonds, and then gives a little hint of tough girl with the chains braided in!  I am thinking about making on of these gorgeous pieces because—as always on Pinterest—there was no link to purchase it!

2nd Find:

I want this printed on a shirt or a poster or something, and then I’ll hang it in my home office as information for guests.  I just thought it was absolutely hilarious!  And I generally do like all of these, so if you find more of them, link me!

3rd Find:

I am always trying to find new ways to decorate patios and porches.  I hate owning furniture that everyone else owns—but don’t get me wrong, I can shop at Target for days and still want for more.  I thought this was an awesome idea.  You can get the whiskey barrels from Home Depot for $30 (which is relatively cheap, unless you happen to find some in an old barn and if you do, let me know!)  You can fill it with real or fake straw, cap it with a glass top and voila!  I think they are adorable!

As always, I hope you enjoyed the Pinterest Finds for this Tuesday!  If you want, follow LfaSB on Pinterest and I’ll follow you back!

Pinterest Finds: Party Punch, Boots for Walkin’, and Something to Live by

1st Find:

Martha Stewart strikes gold all too often.  Why have I never thought of this?!  I love watermelon.  It has the perfect summer colors, goes with backyard barbeques, and happens to make a DELICIOUS punch (both non- and alcoholic.)  This recipe is non-alcoholic, but for those of us who enjoy late nights on the porch filled with gossiping and good music, add your favorite wine to make a sangria or mix in some rum!  Isn’t the punch bowl cute as a button?  AND you don’t have to wash so many dishes!

2nd Find:

I love boots.  I know, I know.  It is WAY too early to be wearing this—I mean, geez, we just got to Summertime!  BUT I am always looking for my next shoe obsession and these are it.  They have rustic charm and those ruffles stole my heart!  Plus, check out the unique lacing detail.  Here’s the problem though: I don’t know who sells these bad boys!  The link took me to some random blog.  :(  Sad day.

3rd Find:

I saw this and smiled.  I am always looking for quotes (y’all know I am obsessed!)  And this one really struck me.  I have many girls who ask advice on finding that perfect gentleman to accompany them in this beautiful walk of life.  Sometimes, I just never know what to say, but I think this is a good starting point.  Find a love that runs so deep that it makes the ocean jealous.  Find that kind of timeless love you can feel when your Memaw and Papaw walk into a room.  Find the kind of love that sweeps you off your feet.  There are so many pessimists in the world nowadays who ruin that truly magical kind of love by always saying it doesn’t exist, but I am here to tell you that it does.  It is out there.

That’s all the Pinterest Finds for this week!  All the pictures are URL clickable and will take you to the actual pins.  Be sure to follow LfaSB on Pinterest and I’ll follow you back!

Pinterest Finds: the Cutest Leather Satchel, a Bucket List, and All About Mama

1st Find:

This bag by Obaz.com is too cute for words.  It has a sweet charm with the added lace, but the rough and tumble of leather.  I love the accent of the brass key!  This would be the perfect satchel just to carry when you are walking around Savannah (or, at least, that is what I picture in my head!)  It costs a pretty $130, but who doesn’t like to invest in cute accessories?!

2nd Find:

I love the idea of creating a Summer Bucket List!  Oh, the things to do in the Summer!  Around here, we girls like to tan, go on hikes, work on our Summertime recipes, sit on porches, go to the lake—it is Summer Love.  I think this is a fun little project to create right now and fill with all your fun ideas.  How about that roadtrip you and your girlfriends have been planning to take to Pigeon Forge?  Or what about going to see historic sites?  And what about spending a day floating in the pool?  You just fill up a jar full of ideas and on a day when you feel like there is nothing to do, pull out one of the strips from the jar!

3rd Find:

This is a printable made by Holiday Snobs.  I just love the saying because when my parents build their new house last year and were selling my childhood home to downsize, I had a really hard time letting go.  But my mom said to me, “Babydoll, home is where your parents are.”  And it is true.  Home is love, memories, feelings…not a specific place.  And even to those of us who have lost our parents…they built home in our hearts.  I love the print—I am thinking about giving it to my mom!

Pinterest Finds: Dress Like Draper, Screen Door, and a Quote to Live by

1st Find:

How absolutely adorable is this dress?  Talk about a throw-back, but OHMIGOSH!  This kind of look is super flattering on any figure, the color is perfect for all skin tones, and the neckline is classy, not trashy.  If there is one thing I can’t stand is an cute dress, but then the girls arehangin’out.  Ladies, a rule of thing is that if you have more than 2-2.5 inches of cleavage, then there is TOO much cleavage.  Make this your mantra: classy, not trashy.  Repeat it every time you go shopping!

2nd Find:

I love old architecture.  It is one of my absolute favorite things about homes and I love the worn look of this screen door.  Looking at the photograph, I can just hear a stampede of children running across the wooden planks of the porch, the creak of them jerking open that door, and the SMACK! it would make once it slammed behind them.  It reminds me of home.  Everyone needs a good screen door on the back porch.

3rd Find:

I am a quote collector.  I love finding inspirational words of wisdom (besides what I write on the blog!)  When I stumbled over this one, I kind of just…sat back.  It is profound; it truly is one of the things each of us must learn in our lives.  We spend so much time running from and hating the things we fear.  And we fear things that we don’t understand.  So why not understand?  Why not run headlong into the unknown?  Why not bust down the doors with all the attitude that Southern belles have?  I am challenging all my followers to go beyond the call of duty this week.  Travel in the direction of your fear and tell me about it!

That’s it for the week, belles and beaus!  Be sure to check out the blog’s Pinterest for more pins!  And, if you follow me, but also you!

Pinterest Finds: DIY Dress, Hair, and a Front Porch to DIE FOR!

Part of my new blogging set-up is my Tuesday Pinterest Finds!  I opened my own personal Pinterest account earlier in the year and immediately became obsessed.  I just couldn’t help it.  All the DIY projects and crafts, the recipes, the fashion—I found myself pinning for hours.  A month ago, I thought about LfaSB and thought Pinterest would be a great way to connect with you, my followers.  So, I set up the LfaSB account and now I am kicking off my Pinterest Finds for the week!

1st Find:

Isn’t this dress to DIE for?  And it is a DIY.  If we know Southern Belles, we are crafty crafty ladies.  I love crafting and from time-to-time, I can’t afford costly chic dresses.  A friend of mine just dropped over $500 on a dress for Derby!  But this?  This is super cute, super easy, and it looks like a little couture piece you could pick up in a tiny boutique.  I just love the color combinations and texture.  This would be a pattern that would flatter all women too!

2nd Find:

How freaking adorable is this?!  I tried to find the link for this hairstyle, but I couldn’t locate it.  So that makes me sad, but that’s why we have hairdressers, right?  I love being able to go to some of my girlfriends and saying, “Figure this out!”  This would be a great hair-do for casual and formal outings.  If it were an afternoon lunch date with girlfriends, you could go for a less sleek and more wild kind of look (less Frizz-Eaze, more Big Sexy if ya know what I mean. :D )  I just love it.

3rd Find:

I have said it before and I’ll say it again: a Southern Belle can’t live without a porch.  This one was designed by Tim Barber LTD Architecture and Interior Design.  I love the contrast of antique white paint with the worn dark wood planks.  And the stone work?  Don’t even get me started on the hanging lamps!  They add that perfect touch of vintage.  All in all, my dream porch is sitting in front of your very eyes right now.

That’s it for this week ladies!  Feel free to click on the pictures; it will direct your to the actual pins if you would like to put them on your boards.  And if anyone needs an invite to Pinterest, just let me know!  I’ll send you a personal invitation.
