I am so overwhelmed and so very appreciated of my followers! I got home from the Kentucky Derby this weekend, opened Tumblr, and could not stop smiling. 595 followers on this little thing I started to record the advice and thoughts of the women I respect so much in the world. Creating this blog has really inspired me, you all have inspired me, but now I am thinking bigger…as all Southern Belles do.
I am thinking of writing a book, a collection of thoughts and ideas and basically all things that have to do with a Southern Belle, growing up Southern, and what it takes to be Southern. I need help from my followers. Some of my ideas are never-fail recipes, small sewing projects, stories from the women in my life, lists of things all Southern women should do at least once…but I really want to know your opinions.
What do you think should be in the dream Lessons from a Southern Belle book?
“I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”—Martin Luther King, Jr
